Lough Derg is the largest lake on the River Shannon and is adjacent to Clareville House, Tuamgraney, Scariff. This lake offers superb angling, mainly for pike and coarse fish, but wild brown trout are fished during the Mayfly season. There is a lot of natural access along its shoreline and there is also access via several slipways and there are many sheltered harbours and marinas dotted around its shore. The lake is noted for record weight pike and the best time to fish for them is early Spring. Angling on the lake is mainly by boat and hire facilities are available.

Over 40 lakes and rivers are dotted throughout East Clare. This is an angling area which has been well developed over the years, situated in an upspoilt and peaceful countryside. The area is most popular for pike and coarse fishing with abundant stocks of pike, bream, tench rudd roach and perch in most waters. Most rivers and lakes are very accessible with car parking closeby and fishing stands have been erected on some lakes. Lough Bridget, Doon Lake and Kilgory lakes are all 10 minutes drive from Clareville House, and are all set in very peaceful, tranquil and picturesque countryside, where the day and sometimes the night will slip by without you noticing. Lough Graney is one of the great secrets of the County Clare. This most scenic lake is ideal for fishing and is very rewarding to the keen fisherman.

Speical offers available for fishing holidays. Book Early!
